I'm not really sure what this site is or how it can help but I'm willing to give it a try. I recently made a huge move and got away from an abusive husband, changed jobs for more money, and found a nice but much much older home to rent for a resonable price. My soon to be ex hasn't helped much and when he promises something it changes at the last minute. We finally go to court on the 25th and I am requesting that support come directly from his check. In the mean time I have been struggling with bills and being able to feed my 3 children. I don't qualify for food stamps because I make just a tad to much money. I ended up behind on my utility bill for the month of September and all my utilities have been turned off. The utility company is all utlities on one bill and will not take a partial payment to keep water or power on, if I don't have the whole amount everything gets shut off. We have been living without power and water for 3 weeks now. On top of all this the utility company is now charging me with a 500 dollar tampering fee because someone broke the tag off (WE DID NOT TAMPER WITH THE METER) They will not work with me on anything. The entire amount must be paid before service will be restored. I have written a letter to the mayor of the city but have not heard anything back. I just don't know what to do. I'm afraid that if certian people find out I will loose my kids. I just need help.
